Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day

Houston witnessed a historic milestone on August 16, 2025, as thousands gathered at Legacy Pointe Events to celebrate Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day at the ACT (Art, Culture & Taste) Pakistan Festival 2025, themed Marka-e-Haq.

The evening featured a proclamation by Houston Mayor John Whitmire, officially declaring August 14, 2025, as ACT Pakistan Festival Day. The proclamation was formally presented on behalf of the Mayor’s Office by Gigi Lee, Chief of International Affairs.

H.E. Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, addressed the audience as Guest of Honor, alongside the Consul General of Pakistan in Houston and other distinguished diplomats.

The festival included cultural performances, documentaries highlighting Pakistan’s provinces and Marka-e-Haq, art and craft exhibitions, children’s playland, and authentic food stalls including Tempura Restaurant. Turkish Airlines added excitement with a raffle draw of two round-trip tickets to Pakistan.

The program concluded with a captivating musical performance by renowned Pakistani singer Tehseen Javed, leaving the audience inspired and proud.
